It started with incendiary rhetoric, with a change of patriotic symbols, with arming the masses to defend the revolution, with the dogmatization of education … It became a full blown dictatorship with the censorship of media, the imprisonment of opposition leaders, and the torture and killing of thousands of young protesters.
